A Ren-tastic Day!

The hobbit in me gets all manner of excitable when there are festivals full of merrie and merchandise to partake in! Okay, I am also still childlike enough to really enjoy dressing up in period finery and strolling through celebrations of different times.
So yes, I like Ren Faires, a lot!
In fact, I put on my most peasanty, hobbit-like wears and hopped into my trusty mode of conveyance this past Saturday with more enthusiasm than one of my advancing age should probably possess. But come on, I was wearing dried flowers pins in my hair and a lace up bodice, I had every right to be ecstatic.
I mean, I got to look at everything from apothecary wares, blacksmithed tools and weaponry, amigurumi creations, leather work, and even 3-D printed awesomeness! There was just so much to take in!
One of my favorite things about Ren Faires is the congenial vibe that floats throughout the events. Everyone is just so happy to be there, whether you are clad in modern clothing or with a more historic flair. There were plenty of those with pointy ears in attendance. There were also medieval ladies and lads, and quite possibly my favorite, a Viking pickle maker who shouted like he was invading a distant land about the awesomeness of his fermented cukes.
We found the Friends of the Library booth and picked up some written word, and we ran into a young lass who was a crochet extraordinaire and purchased one of her creations. I mean, it was her fifteenth birthday, plus, we were intrigued by Fred, he's going to live in Rufus on the dashboard with Rufus the otter.
Another amazing thing that caught our eye were the 3-D printed dice towers. We play a lot of D&D with our friends, and one of our friends has this homebrew plague doctor character that he is going to trot out in a future campaign. So I might have audibly squeed when I saw this bit of excellence:
Our dear friend and librarian of awesomeness was the proprietress of the fete, and we got a kick out of watching her promenade around dealing with things, While she worked, we sat with her family and took in the Minstrel and a rather fabulous young magician, Claire Voyant.
Between the scent of sandalwood soaps on the air, the earthy aroma of smoked turkey legs, and the fresh from the iron wafting flavor of homemade krumkake that one of our friends procured, we decided we were ready to depart and find some comestibles. Our destination and meal will be the subject of another post, but I can indeed say that we left the Faire with a most merry manner in our step. It truly was a time of greatness!!

Wonderful fair indeed, m'lady. All assortments of crafts and renaissance goodies. The leatherworks tent is so wholesome.
Ahh, I am truly sorry I haven't been around to catch up on replies, m'friend, and you are beyond right, the leather tent was most wholesome lol!

This fair looks like a lot of fun! I liked seeing a lot of people in their vintage clothes, that makes the experience complete. And your outfit looked great too.
Sending you greetings, thanks for sharing your day on Daily Blog ❤️.
Oof, I am so sorry I am slow, between breaking cars (3 of them) and being on the road to state, it's been a bit of a melee around here!
The faire was a ton of fun, and thank you so much for the outfit props😊

I'm glad you were able to attend the faire! It makes me think of Camelot, and "The Lusty Month of May" and "Then You May Take Me to the Fair." Seems to me I was babysitting my granddaughter that day, so couldn't attend. Maybe next year, if it happens again!
I have finally made it back and am attempting to catch up on things! The Faire's are so much fun, and I have inside information that it will indeed happen next year. There's also the Sandpoint Ren Faire on June 10th I believe, that one is delightful too!
