Remembering Christmas workshop #FBF / Recordando taller navideño (ESP-ENG)

Espero que se encuentren bien y felices. Esta mañana mientras me pedían referencias de unas personalizaciones con lettering me encontré con las fotos de un taller navideño que hice el año pasado. Este taller me emocionaba porque era diferente a lo que normalmente realizamos.

La meta de este taller era hacer papel de regalo navideños, etiquetas para regalos con formas navideñas y colgantes acrílicos que podían usar para decorar su árbol de navidad. Por esto era demasiado emocionante para mi, ya que aprenderán técnicas para poder armar sus regalos de forma original y tener un colgante con su toque en su árbol.

Primero empezamos practicando trazos básicos para relajar y soltar la mano. Luego practicamos varios estilos de frases navideñas usando diferentes estilos de letras. Para entonces iniciar con la parte divertida: personalizar nuestras piezas.

La primera fue el papel de regalo. Usamos papel kraft y marcadores de pintura acrílica para ir formando frases y patrones que le darían un bonito toque. Para las etiquetas tenían diferentes modelos: árbol de navidad, estrella, hombre de galleta de jengibre y los normales. También usamos marcadores de pintura acrílica para decorarlos. Como era un grupo pequeño pude sentarme a trabajar con ellas y compartir mejor técnicas e ideas.

De último, pero no menos importante, dejamos el colgante. Este era más delicado, porque una vez que lo dibujamos con el marcador de pintura no podíamos cambiar el diseño ni borrarlo. Así que primero trabajamos con un boceto y luego lo replicamos en la pieza.

Este es un taller que sin duda repetiría por lo divertido que es. No necesariamente navideño, porque funciona en caso de querer decorar regalos de forma divertida y original. Recordar mis talleres es algo que me encanta.

I hope you are well and happy. This morning while I was being asked for references for some lettering personalizations I came across the photos of a Christmas workshop I did last year. This workshop excited me because it was different from what we normally do.

The goal of this workshop was to make Christmas wrapping paper, Christmas shaped gift tags and acrylic wall hangings that they could use to decorate their Christmas tree. This is why it was so exciting for me, as they will learn techniques to be able to put together their gifts in an original way and to have a pendant with their touch on their tree.

First we started by practicing basic strokes to relax and loosen the hand. Then we practiced various styles of Christmas phrases using different styles of letters. Then we started with the fun part: personalizing our pieces.

First up was the wrapping paper. We used kraft paper and acrylic paint markers to form phrases and patterns that would add a nice touch. For the tags they had different patterns: Christmas tree, star, gingerbread man and the regular ones. We also used acrylic paint markers to decorate them. Since it was a small group I was able to sit down and work with them and better share techniques and ideas.

Last but not least, we left the pendant. This one was more delicate, because once we drew it with the paint marker we couldn't change the design or erase it. So first we worked with a sketch and then we replicated it on the piece.

This is a workshop that I would definitely repeat because of how fun it is. Not necessarily Christmas, because it works in case you want to decorate gifts in a fun and original way. Remembering my workshops is something I love.
