Bye Bye December, Bye Bye 2024 / Bye Bye Diciembre, Adiós 2024

Espero que se encuentren bien y felices, que hayan disfrutado este fin de año y comienzo de este 2025. Este es mi recap del mes de diciembre, que estuvo bastante movido.

Admito que fue un mes bueno, aunque cerró con un toque agridulce. Cumplio años mi amorcito y mi mamá y fue divertido celebrar la vida de ambos. También tuve un taller de lettering aplicado a manualidades navideñas como papel de regalo, colgantes navideños y tags para regalos. Fue un taller divertido y muy práctico.

Otra cosa genial es que el 21 fue el taller de Santa en las Calles, un evento donde se recaudan donativos de ropa, calzado y juguetes en buen estado para luego ser clasificados y envueltos y ser entregados a personas en situación de calle y de bajos recursos. Es una actividad muy bonita y ya tengo 5 años participando, es prácticamente una actividad familiar.

La Navidad fue divertida. Cenamos en casa de mi hermano y estuvimos jugando juegos de mesa como jenga y cartas de uno, estamos empezando nuevas tradiciones y eso me agrada. Ame mis regalos de navidad: uno fue un cuaderno punteado para hacer bullet journal, una pijama navideña que AMO y marcadores tipo rapidograph y de pintura. Tenía tiempo sin sentirme tan ilusionada con la navidad.

También creé una serie de 12 videos en mi emprendimiento Poeticabyg, donde hicimos ejercicios de lettering en un conteo regresivo de 12 días para navidad. Fue divertido y estoy orgullosa de haber podido cumplir la meta. Crear contenido, grabar el video, editar, grabar el audio y publicar es un proceso largo pero muy satisfactorio.

Ahora, para Fin de Año la cosa cambió. Budi, mi mascota, estaba rara, así que el 30 fuimos al veterinario, resulta que está enferma con anaplasma y bueno, lo descubrimos a tiempo aunque reconozco que sus plaquetas están bajas. Ya está en tratamiento y ahí vamos, cuidándola mucho. Aun así, tenía una cita de chicas para hacer nuestros vision boards y fue muy liberador y bonito reunirnos entre amigas, tomarnos una copa de vino, picar y conversar de nuestras metas y vidas.

Aunque no teníamos mucho ánimo festivo, cenamos en casa de mi hermano y recibimos el año calmando a los perritos por los cohetes, cero divertido para nadie, ellos sufren bastante con eso. Volvimos casi que de inmediato a casa para seguir cuidando de Budi.

Enero empezó raro, hay cierta expectativa en el ambiente, pero iremos viendo, al menos he podido descansar un poco antes de volver el lunes a la rutina.

Hi hivers! 💜

I hope you are well and happy, that you have enjoyed the end of the year and the beginning of 2025. This is my recap of the month of December, which was quite busy.

I admit it was a good month, although it closed with a bittersweet touch. It was my sweetheart's birthday and my mom's birthday and it was fun to celebrate both of their lives. I also had a workshop on lettering applied to Christmas crafts such as wrapping paper, Christmas pendants and gift tags. It was a fun workshop and very hands on.

Another great thing is that on the 21st was the Santa in the Streets workshop, an event where donations of clothes, shoes and toys in good condition are collected and then sorted and wrapped to be delivered to homeless and low-income people. It is a very nice activity and I have been participating for 5 years now, it is practically a family activity.

Christmas was fun. We had dinner at my brother's house and we were playing board games like jenga and playing cards, we are starting new traditions and I like that. I loved my Christmas gifts: one was a dotted notebook for bullet journaling, a pair of Christmas pajamas that I LOVE and rapidograph and paint markers. I haven't felt so excited about Christmas in a long time.

I also created a series of 12 videos in my venture Poeticabyg, where we did lettering exercises in a 12-day countdown to Christmas. It was fun and I'm proud that I was able to accomplish the goal. Creating content, shooting the video, editing, recording the audio and publishing is a long but very satisfying process.

Now, by New Year's Eve things changed. Budi, my pet, was strange, so on the 30th we went to the vet, it turns out that she is sick with anaplasma and well, we discovered it in time although I recognize that her platelets are low. She's already on treatment and there we go, taking good care of her. Still, I had a girl's date to do our vision boards and it was very liberating and nice to get together with friends, have a glass of wine, have a snack and talk about our goals and lives.

Although we weren't in a festive mood, we had dinner at my brother's house and welcomed the year by calming the dogs down for the rockets, no fun for anyone, they suffer enough with that. We went back home almost immediately to continue taking care of Budi.

January started weird, there is some expectation in the atmosphere, but we will see, at least I have been able to rest a little before returning to the routine on Monday.
