A fun community workshop / Un taller comunitario muy divertido (ESP-ENG)

Espero que se encuentren bien y felices. Hace unos días quise hacerle un regalo a mi comunidad: un taller de lettering para adultos. Como saben me dedico a dar talleres de lettering con mi emprendimiento Poética y al ver que habia un grupo de adultos (algunos mayores) que hacían uso del salon de fiesta para realizar manualidades, me anime a aportar mis conocimientos de este bello arte.

Tuve un grupo variado con niñas, adolescentes y adultos mayores, pero sin duda fue un grupo divertido y muy dispuesto a aprender sobre el arte de dibujar letras. Trabajamos 3 estilos de letras: sans serif, serif y cursivas con algunas variaciones y decoraciones como degradados, sombras y doodles. Estaban muy emocionadas al ver sus resultados.

Como proyecto final ilustraron la frase: “vive la vida a tu ritmo”. Les di 2 opciones de composicion y les permiti que eligieran que estilo de letras usar, que paleta de color y como decorarlas. Ahí pudieron dar rienda suelta a su creatividad y ser felices al ver sus propias creaciones. Quedé muy contenta con los resultados y espero volver pronto con otro taller comunitario.

I hope you are well and happy. A few days ago I wanted to give a gift to my community: a lettering workshop for adults. As you know I teach lettering workshops with my project Poética and when I saw that there was a group of adults (some of them older) who were using the party room to make crafts, I decided to contribute with my knowledge of this beautiful art.

I had a varied group with girls, teenagers and older adults, but without a doubt it was a fun group and very willing to learn about the art of drawing letters. We worked on 3 styles of letters: sans serif, serif and cursive with some variations and decorations such as gradients, shadows and doodles. They were very excited to see their results.

As a final project they illustrated the phrase: “live life at your own pace”. I gave them 2 composition options and allowed them to choose what style of lettering to use, what color palette to use and how to decorate it. They were able to unleash their creativity and were happy to see their own creations. I was very happy with the results and hope to come back soon with another community workshop.
