Summer is for Sock Knitting

(Edited)

Once you have worn hand knit wool socks you want as many pair as you can knit. I do socks in the summer as a portable project that doesn't cover my lap in hot weather.

I try to have both socks going at once to keep them as identical as possible.

These are basic socks with a heel flap. I added some blue for interest. Both colors are Wildfoote yarn by Brown Sheep. It is a fingering weight wool with a bit of nylon for durability.

They are turning out beautiful... I would need some like this now, it's already winter here in Argentina 💛.

Oooh, it is so lovely to see these beauuuuutiful socks coming into being, dear @fiberfrau ! I LOVE them. And I wish I could knit like that: yet another fibre skill I'd love to learn... Thank you for the inspiration... Am still able to buy wool secondhand socks - usually never worn, still with the packs on them, from end-of-stock - old fashioned style long ones, at my local market - but I would like to have more handmade ones indeed! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
