The purpose of our existence (Part 3 of 3) MCGI Topic Review
In this third part of the teaching series on the purpose of our existence, brother Eli Soriano shares further insights from God's word. He starts by reminding us that everything in our being, including our heart and mind, is prepared by our Creator to do good.
Brother Eli likens the vessels in a great house to mankind as he delves into 2 Timothy 2:20-21. In the same way as there are vessels for honor and dishonor in a house, so do people exist who can be either for honor or dishonor. As we cleanse ourselves from sin that does not please God, we become sanctified vessels prepared for every good work that must be done as required.
Emphasizing on this point, brother Eli stated that realizing our purpose is to do good which helps in creating a pleasant society. Hence when each person decides to make his neighbor’s welfare more important than own selfish concerns then lies and prejudices shall no longer have room among us.
Purging ourselves means getting rid of sins, evil deeds and anything contrary to God’s wishes. Only when we get rid of sinfulness will we be available for righteous duties.
We are not here for ourselves alone. We live to do good everyday through our words and deeds, this creates an enabling community that is all concerned with each other’s welfare.
Moreover, in the Church of God, members understand how they should live with others so as to do good to their fellow man. Therefore, they experience joy dwelling together which means brotherly love among themselves. No one will ever wish bad things upon others or behave badly before God.
I suggest therefore that we all know why our Creator gave us breath – as channels of excellence. Only by avoiding evil and understanding that we were created for the benefit of humanity can true happiness be found and a just society achieved.
