The Beauty of Holiness (Part 2 of 3): Topic Review
In this second part of the teaching, Brother Eli begins by asking how we can worship God in the "beauty of holiness". To explain the above question, he refers to Romans 12:1-2, which inspires Christians not to follow the ways of the world, but to renew our minds constantly. This allows us to figure out what pleases God.
The Secret is presenting our bodies as a "living sacrifice". Throughout the biblical examples, people offered animal sacrifices like goats, sheep, and bulls to God. But they were dead sacrifices. Rather, Christians are admonished to offer ourselves—our beings—as holy and living sacrifices to God every day. This is not secular worship.
What is a living sacrifice
Brother Eli explains that when the Israelites worshiped God, they sacrificed useless animals such as goats, sheep, and bulls. However, there is no beauty in something that is dead.
Christians, with the help of the Apostle Paul, are exhorted to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice as a substitute. We are to offer ourselves willingly as holy and acceptable to God. There is beauty in holiness.
By offering ourselves as holy living sacrifices, we engage in proper spiritual worship. We should sacrifice ourselves day by day by disregarding the ways of the world. Our worship must be contrasted with worldly attitudes.
Renewing our minds
Brother Eli reminds us that non-secular worship requires that we no longer have to conform to this world. We need to renew our minds constantly.
He notes that we must be alternative and in evaluating the things of this world. By this we are able to prove what is sincerely pleasing to God - what is good, right and in accordance with His perfect will.
Renewing our minds is an important part of presenting ourselves as living sacrifices. It allows us to transform our thinking away from worldly ways. Only in this way are we able to definitively worship God in spirit and in truth.
Daily commitment
Also brother Eli highlights that worshiping God as a living sacrifice requires a constant daily commitment from us. It's not something we only do on Sundays or non secular activities.
Rather, it means always surrendering our whole being to serve God in mind, word, and deed every day. We must sacrifice our own dreams and renew our minds day by day to observe His will rather than the methods of the world.
Conclusion
Finally, Brother Eli provides insightful guidance on the path to true worship of God in spirit and in truth through living sacrifice. He calls us to change our thinking and devote our whole lives to serving God in a special way every day.
Even if it is not much, the beauty of the holiness that God sees in such worship is worth it. When we continually renew our minds and offer ourselves as a living sacrifice, we show what is pleasing to God and walk in His perfect will.
I recommend taking Brother Eli's message to the inner heart. Examine how well you present your body daily as a sacrificial gift to God. This is the worship that brings us closest to Him.
