Giving Something Real this Christmas

As far as Christmas celebrations are concerned today, all of us have become accustomed to online gifts. It is simply the way of sharing a message, a photo, or a brief status update. Believe me, it cannot be more simple, more fast, and more useful at the same time. Of course, I can understand this. Not all of us have got the time to look for gifts or think much about it.
But sometimes I wonder if we are missing something.
There is so much attention drawn to technology and gadgets during Christmas time. People are mostly preoccupied with phones, screens, and what Santa will bring under the tree. Yet, the fact remains that we are already spending the major part of our time with our faces glued to screens. TVs, phones, computers, everything is digital. As a direct result, gifts have become digital too.
Christmas is a time for giving, so if a gift is tangible, sometimes it means so much more. I am not saying online gifts are a problem. They have their purpose. But if a gift can be touched and kept or used, it in most cases will mean a whole lot more.
A gift does not have to be expensive. A gift can simply be a coffee mug, a book, or a wall flame. Those are the kinds of things which people can put inside their homes or offices and think of the individual who gave them this present.
The Christmas spirit is already in the air, lights are all around, and music is being played. However, this is also a time to love and take care of those people whom we value. Giving something to someone who really needs it is a very special thing in life.
A lot of us have good intentions when we deliver online Christmas gifts. However, if we actually want to make someone special, perhaps we can try to do a little bit more. Receiving an actual gift from a friend is a different experience.
They say it is all in the thought, but cross our hearts, it takes work too. Between all the time we spend posting status updates, viewing charts, and tracking crypto, sometimes it can be easy to forget the human part of sharing. At times, virtual gifts seem more like tokens rather than actual gifts.
I am not intending to lead a campaign or command people. I am simply sharing my thought. Giving or sharing something real with a virtual friend might mean a lot to them. Even in Hive, we have a direct connection from our wallets.
Perhaps a small gift of HIVE or HBD this Christmas could be very practical and a good deed. One way or another, it really is one of the most tangible gifts we can make in this community. One thing that really matters is whether this gift is given with good intentions. Small and sincere gifts hold the true spirit of Christmas.
