Pessimistic people are effectively unable to adopt an investor mindset
Investing assumes a positive outcome is part of the set of possibilities

Pessimism makes positive outcomes feel unlikely, putting someone at a huge disadvantage
Being irrationally optimistic is orders of magnitude better than being even slightly pessimistic
At least that approach gives a real chance of a better future
