WHEN PERFECT MEMORY ISN’T PERFECT
Imagine waking up one day and never forgetting a single detail, every face, every conversation, every fact you’ve ever learned, locked perfectly in place. Sounds like a superpower, right?
Now picture this: a tiny chip implanted in your brain, promising to boost your memory beyond human limits. But here’s the catch, someone has to literally tinker with your mind to make it happen. Would you take the leap for a sharper memory, or stick with the natural forgetfulness that makes us human?
Before you start thinking so far, I believe you need to read this, so it will help you make a better decision. Welcome to my blog. I am the Alien on Hive.
A few days ago in the Hivelearners community, we were discussing about forgiving and FORGETTING, and I was surprised to hear that you would think having a chip in your head that would make you remember everything you read, feel, and see would remain as vivid as it happened for the first time. Don't you think that's dangerous for you humans?
You see, the concept of being a human is that we are not perfect, and one of the things that makes us not perfect is that we forget things. I remember watching a video of a man who went to see his doctor, and when they started asking him questions about his health, he had to call his wife every second to be certain that the information he was giving wasn't wrong.
Now this will look like the man has a bad memory and he needed to be fixed, but guess what, it's not like he did not remember the information, but he has someone who knows him better than himself and that was another way for him to bond with his wife. Before he left the hospital, the doctor said
"Make sure you come with your wife for the next appointment," and he replied, "Sure, I will. What can I do without her?"
That is a man who provides for his family, makes sure everything is sorted, but what made him not perfect was that he doesn't even know how his health conditions are, but his wife knows better, and this way, she has another important role and meaning in his life.
If we all have the chip planted in our brains, and we can never forget things, so what is the essence of examination, and what is the importance of school? Every book should just be in a great library, and everyone would just have some months to study what they want to be, and that's it, they already know it all and can never forget.
Having a perfect brain that remembers everything is like taking a part that makes humans human. Forgetfulness is not just a flaw; it’s a space where relationships grow, where learning stays exciting, and where life still holds surprises. So maybe, just maybe, the beauty of memory is not in keeping everything, but in letting some things go.
Because if you remember every single word anyone ever said to you, you might never heal from hurt. If you never forget any mistake you’ve made, you might never forgive yourself enough to try again. And if every moment of your life is stored in sharp detail, you might stop living for new moments and start drowning in the old ones.
So, the next time you forget where you kept your keys or the name of a movie you watched last year, smile. That’s just your humanity showing. And trust me, you don’t need a chip to make that perfect. Now tell me, what will you go for?

Bro, this is just like what I said. Forgetting is part of humanity. We don't any damn chip that would mess up our minds and steal the little happiness we derive from forgetting and remembering things.
I read your post also and I can say we have the same mind
Yeah, we do 😁
