Cultural similarity in different part of the world.
I have come to understand something: no matter how different we are culturally, there are always things that we find similar in our culture, which makes me believe there is more to our origins than we were told. Human cultures around the world share many similarities but also exhibit significant differences. Today, I will be sharing some similar cultural heritage that many people around the world can agree with.

Similarities.
Society: Most cultures have social structures that organize people into families, communities, and larger societal groups. Just like in Nigeria, my country. The three major tribes (Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa) have one thing in common among them: the social structure, which is common in many parts of the world. Currently, the United States recognizes 574 federally recognized Indian nations (also referred to as tribes, nations, bands, pueblos, communities, and native villages) across their country. These tribes are ethnically, culturally, and linguistically diverse, contributing to the rich tapestry of Native American heritage.
Language: I once wrote a post about how the languages we speak in different countries have the same world but different meanings. While there are thousands of languages spoken globally, the use of language as a means of communication is universal among cultures, yet there are so many similarities between the languages. I will mention a word in my language, and you will tell me what it means in your language. The word is "owo."
Traditions and rites: It is a common thing to have traditions for significant life events such as birth, marriage, and death. Although the specific customs may vary widely, it is a common thing that is done everywhere. Let's talk about the marriage ceremony. Your religion really doesn't matter when it's time to marry in most parts of Nigeria; what determines how you will celebrate the wedding is our tradition. Most weddings are done in churches and mosques, but the traditional ceremony is more important. According to studies, it has been said that many cultures prefer to celebrate in their traditional way. Most Indian weddings are done in the traditional way.
Values: Many cultures emphasize values such as respect for elders, hospitality, honesty, and cooperation, albeit to varying degrees. The Yoruba tribe in Nigeria is one of the tribes that puts a lot of emphasis on respect. As a younger person, there are so many ways to show respect to your elders, such as prostrating as a male to greet their elders and kneeling down for the ladies. We have similar cultures all over the world; just like in Korea, it is common to take a bow to show respect to an elderly person.
Food: As a food lover, I have the wish of traveling around the world to eat different traditional foods from different countries, and my favorite countries are Japan, Korea, and Ghana. It is common all over the world that food is one of the cultural heritages of different cultures. It is something people take pride in; they would say, "It's our traditional food." This is a cultural similarity all over the world. If you are seeing this, mention a food that is common in your tribe.
Now, you can see how similar we are all in our culture. There is no doubt that we have differences in our culture too, but there are more that connect us than separate us. Johann Herder, a German philosopher, emphasized national cultures. He believed that human creativity, expressed in diverse forms, was as important as rationality. I believe as the world develops more and more, we will come together and have similar histories and cultures. Thanks for reading.
