A Statement I Don't Agree With and I Am Sure You Won't Either.

Hello readers, it's a new week for us on Hive-reachout to share our knowledge on different things based on real-life experience and this week's prompt topic is an amazing one because we tend to see different topics with different perspectives.

Well, this week's prompt says we should talk about a popular statement we don't agree with. I thought about this for a while, and I had so many statements I do not agree with, but there is a very popular one that everyone uses all over the world, and this statement is

"Customers are always right."

As a customer, you might think this statement is right because the people serving you don't want to lose you as a customer, but as someone who has worked as a server or an attendant, I can tell you how wrong that statement is.

To me, I believe this statement was made by a bad person who wants to make money so badly that he forgot the feelings of other people just to keep the people who are paying them money.

I will share an experience with you, and this time was when I was an attendant at a gas station.

That day, I was selling gasoline for a man who was making a call very close to the gasoline pump. I walked up to him to tell him not to, and besides, there was a huge signpost on the call that said no phones in the gas station.

"Sir, please, you are not allowed to make calls here. You can move away to a different place and make your call while I sell what you requested." That was all I said.

This man got angry for no reason, asking me why I would instruct him. His pride and ego didn't want him to leave that place and it became a little argument. He moved closer to me and gave me a slap on my face. I couldn't say a word, and then the supervisor came.

He requested what happened from me. I told him my story and the bad part was that he was apologizing to the man because he bought gasoline from them. I stood there with tears almost running down my cheeks, but I fought back my tears.

After the man left, the supervisor told me not to get worked up over a slap, saying, "Customers are always right."

I would never do that to an attendant, even if the person was rude. I would just make a report, and that's all. Not all customers are right; some customers are there to frustrate people's lives, and they do this for fun. Are you telling me they are right too?

I don't really like that statement, and no matter what, he doesn't sit well with me. I don't know if you agree with me, and if you don't, you can give me your reasons in the comment section.

Oh no! The supervisor wants to retain his customer but don't care about how his staff is being humiliated ?

What you told him was for his own safety too... unfortunately his ego couldn't allow him process the information and behave like a human being

I can never forget that day and I still remember the man because I still do see him once in a while. The world is too small for people to hide.

He doesn't recognize me because I have changed.

For the supervisor, I can't even say anything because he was doing what he has to do to keep his customer and besides, he can sack the attendants at any time and get new people. Also, I needed the job at that time so there was nothing I could do.

I can totally relate. Some customers are crazy. I have experience worse than this which is why I cancel anything related to working with a private sector.

Well, people who have experienced the ugly side of customers know that not all customers are right and also, I am a customer to other people so I won't act in a disrespectful manner because they are also humans.

He was wrong but his ego is so big he doesn't want to admit it.
