MY TRAVELING EXPERIENCE

picture is mine

Traveling is part of my hobbies. When you check my curriculum vitae you would discovered that traveling is part of it. This started since when I was much younger. I didn't spend part of my life with my parents even though I had the privilege to come from a pastoral background. I grew up to see my parents being transferred from one station to another. He was a clergyman before he retired from active service. He has influenced so many lives and many disciples across different shores of life especially in the pastoral work.

I have been told that an average of my sibling attended at least two schools because of transfer from one town or village to the other. It was like a moment of excursion because there are unforgettable experience gathered that keeps me going till date. Traveling has a lot of benefits to individual and the community at large. I have had different experiences in the course of traveling across my beautiful country Nigeria. In this post, I would share some merit and demerit of my traveling experiences.
I noticed that when I was in secondary school, I hardly stay for a month without attending one programme or the other outside my locality. I could remember one that we had to spend days in one particular village. For the first time in my life to stay without food for days like that. Hmmmm it was tough but I endured it with my good friend then. It really build up our spiritual stamina as young ministers of the gospel of Christ.

Merit of traveling

I have learnt a lot since I started traveling from one place to another. The one that amounted to some of these indelible experience was when I went to Edo State for the first time. I passed through a lot of states.

  • I saw lots of side attractions by the road side. The confluence at Kogi State was so beautiful and as if I should just pitch my tent there.
  • Traveling exposes one and builds one's brain capacity. I was truly educated as I passed through the road.
  • Traveling enhance one to build good adventuring spirit. I got to know so many places even though I couldn't stop at such place but I read through sign board.
  • Traveling eases out tension and makes me feel relief no matter how tough it might be.
  • Traveling exposes me and build up my self confidence over things tremendously.

Demerit of traveling;

*Traveling sometimes can be time consuming.

  • Sometimes the road network is bad which could bring accident.
  • Due to the security challenges of Nigeria, traveling all the time on the road could be very dangerous.

My experience

The place where I stayed in Benin was students environmental as such, I had the opportunity today meet many of them. I communicate with some of them once in while till date. The weather was accommodative and friendly.

CONCLUSION

Traveling is good however one should one should try and be careful. Not all that glitters is gold therefore not all traveling. Nigerian roads are not properly secured therefore be conscious of your life as well.
