Tutorial for making a baby dress with a double ruffle on the skirt

Un saludo mi querida comunidad @needleworkmonday esta vez les comparto un nuevo proyecto de costura, se trata de un lindo y coqueto vestido para bebe, usando estampados coloridos en combinación con una tela que me encanta, el rib o acanalada, en este caso el color predominante para mi proyecto será el rojo, combinando un tierno estampado de oso panda que con el diseño de volantes doble en la falda que les compartiré lo hará ver y lucir muy hermoso. Ahora bien sin más comencemos manos a la obra.

This time I'm sharing a new sewing project with you: a cute and charming baby dress, using colorful prints combined with a fabric that I love, ribbed fabric. In this case, the predominant color for my project will be red, combined with a cute panda bear print and a double ruffle design on the skirt that I will share with you, which will make it look and feel very beautiful. Now, without further ado, let's get to work.

Lo primero que hare será colocar las piezas del patron sobre la tela y a partir de ahi crear el diseño que quiero, en este caso para la parte superior no cambiare nada, lo único será que reduciré la parte delantera para crear un vestido realizando aparte una falda. Ya una vez tenemos las piezas cortadas procedemos a unir con alfiler y luego a la maquina, yo primero uní los hombros para luego cortar unas tiras, arrucharlas y coserlas antes de coser las mangas, para que asi nos quede esa parte ya terminada.

The first thing I will do is place the pattern pieces on the fabric and from there create the design I want. In this case, I won't change anything for the top, I will only reduce the front to create a dress and make a separate skirt. Once we have the pieces cut out, we proceed to pin them together and then sew them on the machine. I first joined the shoulders and then cut some strips, gathered them, and sewed them before sewing the sleeves, so that part is now finished.

Ya una vez tenemos la parte del volante de la manga cosido y terminado procedemos a cerrar los costados de la parte superior, que son toda la manga y parte del cuerpo. Ya con esto podemos pasar al siguiente paso que será la falda para asi unir ambas piezas.

Once we have the sleeve cuff sewn and finished, we proceed to close the sides of the upper part, which are the entire sleeve and part of the body. With this done, we can move on to the next step, which will be the skirt, in order to join both pieces together.

Para el diseño de la falda quise hacer algo diferente, asi que se me ocurrió crear un doble volante cortando dos piezas en lugar de una, una tira delgada y una tira gruesa, las cosemos por el borde con un zig zag pequeño para formar un volante muy bonito, luego en el otro extremo cosemos con costura abierta para arruchar ambas tiras, luego cerramos con costura recta y zig zag y finalmente lo unimos a la parte superior que teníamos previamente lista.

For the skirt design, I wanted to do something different, so I came up with the idea of creating a double ruffle by cutting two pieces instead of one, a thin strip and a thick strip. We sew them together at the edge with a small zigzag stitch to form a very pretty ruffle, then at the other end we sew with an open seam to gather both strips, then we close with a straight stitch and zigzag and finally we attach it to the top that we had previously prepared.
