*PEPLUM TOp AND SKIRT

I love making dresses for myself, this makes me improve on my skill and also save me the cost of visiting a fashion designer and I sew it to my own taste. I will be sharing with you how I made my peplum and short skirt 😁

A peplum top has flared ruffle sewn into the waistline of a blouse, skirt, or dress to add extra frill(pleating), it is always beautiful and you can add pleating to it according to your choice, in my own case I match it up with a short skirt using ankara fabric. You can as well rock it with a jean trouser.

Method

The following measurement is important
Burst, waist,the nipple point(np) underburst(UB)

6 inches allowance is okay (considering the zip), the sewing allowance and also for the turning of the linen.

Fabric folded into two,am cutting the front first and making it padded,
Nipple point-9 inches
Underburst-12 inches
Half-length-14 inches

The distance is 7 inches(take note this depends on individual's burst) at the nipple point, I added 1 inch for the allowance, it's a princess dart. Coming down to the Underburst, I left 1 and 1/2 and I cut it

Then I cut the back which I will be using a straight dart for

For the peplum
Waist circumference-26
26+4=30
30 divided by 6.284.
30/6.284 = 4.7. This is the waist circumference for the peplum. Take note that you follow your own waist measurement. The length is 12 inches considering the folding allowance

Then I joined it. I made the sleeve to be a cold shoulder

For the skirt
The band measurement and hip measurement is very important. Since it's a straight skirt. I shaped it out to my accurate measurement and put linen

The outcome

No one is perfect after all, still saw some amendments which I need to make in case of next time.
