Little Black Wasp

avatar

At first I really though that this little insect is a kind of a bee, or a stingless bee. But it is most likely to be a wasp. And from what I find online and through the know-it-all Uncle Google, this little guy most likely to be one of the wasps that come from the Chalcididae.

and apparently, this wasp is also a parasitic wasp, kind of interesting, isn't it?I wonder what kind of host they are trying to find because as I mentioned the size of this wasp is tiny.

But maybe it is because of the size that make it easier for this little wasp to inject its egg into the host without being noticed by it. a little sting, then an egg of another animal is already inside the host. how scary and creepy that would be. heheh. But it is Mother Nature, and she is really full of surprises.

I love the color of this wasp, all black all over its body, with white hairs that can be seen on its abdomen, and it make it seems like it has a shade of white on it.
You can also see some white markings on the ends of its legs. It also has a moderate length of antennae compared to its body size. such a cute insect with lethal behaviour up on its sting. : )

I didn't know there were parasitic wasps. I would have thought it's a little strange fly, I miss some yellow colour on her body, although paying attention to the shape is the same as that of the wasps, really. As you say, nature is fascinating and I love that it always has something new to surprise us. 😃 Amazing photos, as always!!

it seems there are a lot of parasitic wasp around in the nature, and not just a bright yellow one. this one is very small, but it has a very different way of reproducting. Very interesting right?
thank you for the point tips my friend.
