It is not easy to be frugal when you are a family man

There is a friend of mine whom I always advise to save money because I realize how he lavishly spends money. I’ve been telling my friends for a few years that he should start saving money so he can start a business of his own or invest in crypto but my friend did not listen, he thought I was only talking from the perspective now, but I was talking from the perspective of tomorrow. I know that the money can not just keep coming and when the money stops coming, he may not be able to cope.

Having responsibility is one of the reasons why I keep on pushing my friend to save, You can’t stay alone forever, and when responsibility sets in mentality changes.  My friend called me today to say that he needs money, he is a family man now and he has so many responsibilities on his shoulders. My first question was to hope he would follow my advice and what he said was a regret of his past actions that you should have listened to me because now he is struggling and his salary is not enough anymore just because he has so many responsibilities.

Most people don’t know that life is easy when you don’t have a responsibility and you are making money

A lot of people get carried away, thinking life as a single person is the same as life as a family person, especially if you're a man where you have to take a lot of responsibility upon yourself. Most people don’t know that this time the pressure is different because when you are alone, you know how to maneuver life even when you don’t have money, you know how you can go to bed without food but now we have extra people to provide for which becomes very difficult for you to manage.

When you tell people to manage their finances and use it for something good while they are single, most of them believe that you are trying to deprive them of enjoying life, especially when you tell them to budget they become defensive, thinking you are trying to make them suffer. They don’t know that the reality of you alone making money is from the reality of you making money to feed your family, you and your family need extra income, you need more cash flow. 

It is not easy to be frugal when you are a family man

As a single man, it is easy for you to save and invest because you’re only responsible for yourself. It is easy for you to put your money somewhere because even when emergency comes, it will be only your own emergency so during this time is easy for you to save money but once you get married or you have more people that you are responsible for it will become very difficult for you to be frugal, your income will shrink and you might barely survive. When people advise you to start saving when you are single they know that the money may not keep coming and when your responsibility increases you will be faced with a different reality.
