Ignorance
Hello everyone, I trust y’all are doing well.
Today, I’ll be talking about “Ignorance.” Ignorance, they say, is a disease. When someone is ignorant, they lack awareness and information on many things. It is like when someone is blindfolded and cannot see anything.
Ignorance is so bad that when we as humans lack knowledge on something it makes us stay in the dark on something that has consequences. Another truth is that as humans, we can’t always know everything. There are some things we are going to lack knowledge of.
To be overly ignorant about many things is a big problem for our personal growth.
People choose to be ignorant and some are just truly ignorant. For the people who are ignorant unintentionally, it is mostly because of a lack of education and limited access to information. Environment also does a lot when it comes to ignorance.
The funny thing is that some people just choose to be ignorant especially when it comes to health issues. For instance, smokers know what they are doing is harmful to their health but they still choose to ignore and keep smoking regardless.
Overall, ignorance has done more harm than good and to help people who are ignorant and willing to learn society can just provide people who know better to put other people through and also provide good information that will encourage the ignorant people.
I mentioned earlier that when it comes to personal growth ignorance is not good. When we as humans are ignorant about certain things we will miss out on growth opportunities. In this area of personal growth ignorance will draw us back.
When it comes to culture also ignorance is not that good. I remember I was in a state where on a particular day people were not to go out. I didn’t even know about this beforehand, I needed to go out to get something and while I was still indoors I overheard someone talk about what they normally practice in their own state.
Also, Ignorance can lead to fear and misunderstandings because when we are unaware of something, we might fear it or misunderstand it. This can lead to confusion or anxiety.
However, when we learn about different people and experiences, we can become more understanding and less ignorant which will help us see things differently and be informed.
In conclusion, ignorance is a two-way issue with both good and bad sides. While it's natural not to know everything, being overly ignorant can harm us as individuals and as a society. Let’s try to understand and also learn from each other to make ourselves better, more informed and less ignorant.
Thanks for your time.
