Thoughtful prompt of the holy week.
Hey everyone, it's been a while since I last posted in this awesome community. Thursday's thoughtful daily prompt is all about Easter, which is a holy week. To be honest, I'm not super familiar with Easter since I'm Muslim, so I'm gonna share my own experiences and memories of celebrating Eid and other special days that mean a lot to me.
There are a number of uh Christians and I have myself seen wide range of diversity of different religions and cultures throughout Pakistan and recently I have also come across some Christians and people who celebrate Easter the holy week.
I was scrolling through social media Instagram when I saw few people talking about Easter so uh there are very few people in my own hometown related to this festival this is why I know very little about Easter.
I am pretty sure that the cultures the religions and the holy beliefs of people relate and resonate to some extent this is why I have find a lot of similarities in Eid Diwali uh Easter Christmas uh in the way people celebrate these festivals.
I myself used to dress up nicely uh when I was a kid I was so excited I used to meet my elders my cousins my friends my neighbors and we used to distribute sweets among them and I am pretty sure that these are all core values some basic activities that people must be doing in Easter as well.
I am looking forward to hearing from you all because I want to learn more about different cultures and I am very excited about Easter as well because uh through diversity we are unified and feel free to communicate and educate me more about Easter and why we celebrate it how we celebrate it and what it means to you.
Pictures are my own taken on the previous eid. Thanks for your time.
We appreciate you taking the time, to either use #ThoughtfulDailyPost, or otherwise help this Community grow. So...
Thank you!!
For Christians, @drhakam, Easter is the most important day of the year. It was originally called Resurrection Sunday, as it is a celebration of the resurrection from the dead, of Jesus Christ. This occurred on a Sunday, following his execution by death on a cross on the preceding Friday.
Please feel free to ask any questions. If I can answer them, I will be happy to do it.
What is the significance to a Muslim, of the Eid celebration you mentioned?
