Patriotism is supporting your country all the time and your government, when it deserves it.

Hello everyone I am here with the thought of the day. It is a very strong statement that I am going to talk about today and I hope that I will be able to share my thoughts very clearly and eloquently by the end of the discussion. So the statement is very simple. We have to support our government. Country all the time and the government when it deserves. It is called true patriotism. Patriotism is not supporting your government blindly. It is supporting your country. Supporting and contributing to the betterment of your country is what I call patriotism true patriotism.

However government is run by people and we all know that people make mistakes. It is who we are and people make mistakes. This is why they need to be scrutinized and criticized. They cannot be left alone. This is why we have opposition in democracies. Outright freedom can lead to terrorist and terrorist often lead to the violation of human rights, beat fundamental of secondary.

I don't like the idea of treating people as secondary citizens. Everyone is equal and should be treated equally. This is why it is very important to support our country and the government when it deserves. The government can deserve the support of the citizens only when it is fair just and equitable. When a government is discriminating it is not performing well economically and it is not providing opportunities to all the citizens equally. It does not deserve the support of the people.

This is why no government is permanent in any country and the governments keep on changing but the country stays the same. It is therefore very necessary to support the country all the time in the form of patriotism but it is equally important to not the support of government when they do not deserve it.

You see I have been living in Pakistan and I know that the governments are not very smooth and they are not loyal and there are so many cases of corruption against the top tier leadership but this does not mean that I will start hitting my own country. No I will always support it and I will do my part in its well being and growth but I will also try to criticize and do my part in keeping a check on the government.
