Parvez bought a new car. He knew that his neighbours will not be happy. And they will be jealous and in jealousy they might even damage his car.

This is why he did not brag about his car. His wife told him to brag about it, but he did not, and he invited everyone to the party and gracefully told them and made it feel like this was a win for everyone.
