Both students were very competitive. The backbencher wasn't always flexing about it, though. The front bencher challenged him, saying he couldn't beat him in the upcoming test. The front bencher was overconfident and underestimated the backbencher.

When the test came, the backbencher performed well but didn't show it or flex about it, even after accepting the competition. When the results came, the front bencher was in shock. The test had given him a shock.

Being a front bencher, it was convenient and easy for him to accept his defeat and acknowledge that the backbencher had beaten him in the test.
