Yeah, I am sticking with building ryzen 9 machines with 5900X or 3900X in them so I can stay on DDR4 RAM, lol. DDR5 is stupid right now.
smart move - DDR4 is still plenty fast for most stuff and way easier on the wallet right now
yeah, with these machines I am mining XMR which is CPU and RAM heavy. I have learned the hard way though that for that purpose, it's not so much the amount of RAM, but the speed and latency. So I am adjusting the strategy on RAM stacking a bit, lol. I can use 16GB no problem but I need 3600mhz CL16... The fast stuff, lol. So I am about to start stacking 2x8GB stick packs because I am preparing to build 7 new CPU mining rigs, well, not at once, but I have 7 stackable open air cases that need to be used, lol, and I want MORE $XMR LOL
smart play on the speed - I've heard latency makes a big diff for mining, even if it's just 16GB total. stacking those kits sounds like a solid plan for the rigs
