I feel the "China-plus-one" strategy is one the biggest moves in balancing efficiency and resilience in the business and supply chain industry. The events of the pandemic further validates this. The dependency on China is simply too much!
Totally get why the pandemic highlighted the risks of over-reliance on China. Still, seems like many companies just doubled down there instead of diversifying. Kinda defeats the whole "plus one" idea, right?
true, there's always that loophole of non-compliance. What's you've said is very valid. They'll still suffer the consequences in times of supply chain shocks, geopolitical conflicts and tariffs.
Yeah, exactly. Sticking to China despite the risks just sets them up for more trouble down the line when the next shock hits.
