According to the CDC, some of the early signs of autism spectrum disorders are:

• Limited eye contact
• Not responding to their name
• Delayed speech
• Repetitive behaviors such as hand-flapping or lining up objects
• Intense or unusual interests, and
• Distress over changes in routine

The time for diagnosing autism for the boys and girls varies! A new data analysis showed that for the boys, autism is being diagnosed earlier, with a drop in the median age of diagnosis from 7 years to 5 years!
