MY HIVE GOALS & SATURDAYS SAVERS CLUB 020 (25-NOV) - Last Month Before Getting The Dolphin
Hello Savers and Hoarders
Here we are at my 20th weekly recap of SATURDAY SAVERS CLUB. This is the eighth week in Q4 2023 and as you can see, I get good rhythm now which makes me able to keep up this update on time.
In this post I might change a bit of my usual weekly update format. Only a little part, which is I try to emphasize more on my Hive Goals, which are HP and HBD savings. I do not think HBD savings should be a part of my #saturdaysavers goal, because HBD right now is an alternative liquid asset aside of cash that I hold for emergency reasons. So they are not something that I feel I have to push up for whatever reason I can come up with. However I think updating HBD can be a good motivation for the others, you know when someone gets more HBD, sometime others get excited too and add more of their HBD into savings...
Another thing that I often say in some of my post, but never been and I think it should not be in my target is $LEO. First of all this does not mean I am saying that token is bad, it just there are several things that drive me to opt out $LEO in my saving target:
- LEO thread is one of the hottest d.app in HIVE right now, I believe the project hits a great momentum however as a token, let say tokenomic-wise... I prefer not to give any comment on it. For some cases I think $PGM is better, but well... each developers have their own problema.
- For saving goals, I believe the token should be able to give you more benefit or gain as you hold them more. Some Tribe tokens has this fixture such as $PIMP, $ARCHON, and $ALIVE. For the same reason I keep monitoring @dynamicrypto new token, the $PSX, because it gives drip or reward for those who hold/stake it. This point has became a big consideration for me to replace $THGAMING as the next year goal, I will replace it with tokens that really rewarding people for holding or staking them,
- The finish line is too high. I do not like setting a saving target on things that I do not or can not aim to land on top. For $THGAMING and $PGM, I already on top 50 and I believe its a matter of time before I become top 20. To get top 50 $LEO staking list, you need to spend thousands of dollar, and if I have that money I will prefer to buy HBD then save it or to buy HIVE then stake it. Or to put it more extreme, buy a ring then propose a girl 😂
I might still buy $LEO for LPUD but not as the goal in saving.
MY PRIMARY TARGET : HIVE POWER (HP)
Quote My primary goal is to become a HIVE DOLPHIN, which means I have to have around 5654 Hive Power (HP). Because the number will always change from time to time, my goal should be set a little bit above that numberm which is 5.700 HP. I think that's a good number to be set as my goal.
Here is my recap right now:
8th straight red warnings, the red list is getting longer and I believe it won't be stopped there. I need only 300 HP left to hit dolphin level. 300 HP divided by 5 weeks, means I have to get atleast 60 HP per week if I intend to get the Dolphin in this year.
I think the goal is still attainable, I might do crazy things next month such as powering up 1000-5000 HP next month, but cross my finger here... I need to pay extra lump of money in every end year time, part of it is to support my families.. yes plural because I need to help their families too. I spend almost 75% of my expenses throughout the year for other families expenses.
THE HBD
I will be updating my HBD stash in this #saturdaysavers too in hope it could rise up the spirit of people who setting it as their saving target.
I have 177 HBD saving now and I hope they can survive this christmas.. in term of not getting withdrawn. That 10 HBD in wallet soon will be gone for purchasing the DAB CLUB from @dailydab. I am interested with their Lottery Project, so I think getting a life time tickets for lotteries is a steal...
MY SECONDARY TARGET : GAMING TOKEN (THGAMING)
I came to HIVE a couple years ago due to a game, Splinterlands... and most of my activities are gamings. I have tried to post others, such as food contents using Liketu, however I found myself more comfortable dwelling on the game issues.

Some good points about which savings goals to pick.
I've changed my mind about HBD, too. Originally, I was putting HBD aside for a specific thing. Now I'm thinking of it more as my emergency fund.
I agree about LEO - I get a little LEO income each week which I let compound and grow quietly in the back ground, but I'm not actively investing.

Early congratulations on reaching dolphin level! I just reached dolphin level yesterday with my mega powerup for #HPUD. The threshold for each level is always rising, and for dolphin level as of today it is 5,719 HP. It goes up about 1 HP per day. You can see this in @arcange's daily Hive Statistics Reports.
I agree with you on criteria for having layer-2 tokens as a focus on savings reports. I really only focus on income tokens (miner and dividend-paying).
I am curious why you do to put much focus on HBD in Savings, as if the amount gets past a certain point, it becomes quite easy to live off it. As an example, if you have 120,000 HBD in Savings, at the present 20% APR and monthly compounding interest, it would yield 2,000 HBD in interest each month. Something to consider.
