Those are crosses ... indicating a footnote somewhere that says some more about how it should be used that is CRUCIAL, hence the crosses.

I like that they are crosses and not Ts. I looked for more info on the package and saw nothing about them.

Generally there is a very small-print footnote ... but it may be on some website somewhere ... if there is no note, take it as especially pointing up the crucial use of the items in places likely to have germs that make people sick.
