Por fin llegamos a las clases de criptomonedas. El inicio fue muy divertido, con una dinámica inesperada por los chicos, pero que les iba a enseñar un conocimiento primordial en este mundo; la volatilidad.

Organicé el salón en un círculo pequeño, donde los chicos tenían que golpear globos sin dejarlos caer en el piso. Se comenzaba con un globo y se iban añadiendo más. Cada globo era una criptomoneda. La primera BTC, seguida de HIVE. Después entraban al juego ETH, SHIB, DOGE, DASH. Este fue el máximo de monedas que lograron manejar. Fue en ese momento en que una tocó el piso y se terminó el juego.

Esto me dio el ambiente para explicarles, que las criptomonedas suben y bajan en precio. Algunas lo hacen más rápido, otras tienen más tiempo en el mercado, etc.

Hasta el momento han sido dos clases y mi asombro es que a la mayoría los he visto muy interesados. Esto seguro se debe a qué les he contado historias asombrosas de gente que se hace millonaria. Sin embargo la advertencia es que la mayoría lo hizo con paciencia, esperando durante mucho tiempo. Aunque les conté la historia de Shiba, donde miles se hicieron millonarios en pocos meses, son cosas que pasan poco y tienen mucho que ver con la suerte.

También hablamos del trading y de como es una profesión. La diferencia entre apostar y ser trader. Recalqué que quien quiere serlo debe estudiar y mucho, además de estar dispuesto a perder al principio.

Bitcoin fue la protagonista. Quería que entendieran como inició todo este mundo. Además que vean en lo que Hive está inmerso y que puede ser la puerta perfecta para invertir en otros ecosistemas.

Les dibujé una gráfica en la pizarra y les señalé los primeros precios, además de precios de los ATH. También les dije cuándo conocí bitcoin y a qué precio, con mi primera compra de $25 que llegaron a convertirse en 5 mil. Pero como nota más curiosa de una ganancia temprana, fue mi historia con DOGE, que tenía pocos dólares y cuando se triplicaron y llegué a tener ocho dólares en DOGE, los vendí por allá en 2019. Después Elon Musk se enamoró de eso y tuviera casi mil dólares, con una inversión de tres dólares aproximadamente.

Estas historias les encanta y comienzan a tener ganas de invertir. Siempre les digo que estudien antes y que la mejor manera es publicando en Hive y ganando criptomonedas por sus talentos. Ya después pueden invertir esas criptomonedas.

We finally made it to the cryptocurrency classes. The start was a lot of fun, with an unexpected activity for the students, but one that was going to teach them a fundamental lesson in this world: volatility.

I organized the classroom into a small circle where the kids had to tap balloons to keep them from hitting the floor. We started with one balloon and kept adding more. Each balloon represented a cryptocurrency. The first was BTC, followed by HIVE. Then ETH, SHIB, DOGE, and DASH entered the game. This was the maximum number of coins they managed to handle. At that moment, one touched the floor and the game was over.

This set the stage for me to explain that cryptocurrencies go up and down in price. Some move faster, others have been in the market longer, and so on.

So far, there have been two classes, and to my surprise, most of them seem very interested. This is surely because I’ve shared amazing stories of people becoming millionaires. However, the warning is that most did it through patience, waiting for a long time. Even though I told them the story of Shiba Inu, where thousands became millionaires in just a few months, those things rarely happen and have a lot to do with luck.

We also talked about trading and how it is a profession—the difference between gambling and being a trader. I emphasized that anyone who wants to do it must study a lot and be willing to lose at the beginning.

Bitcoin was the star of the show. I wanted them to understand how this whole world started. I also wanted them to see the ecosystem Hive is part of and how it can be the perfect gateway to invest in other ecosystems.

I drew a chart on the board and pointed out the early prices, as well as the ATH (All-Time High) prices. I also told them when I first discovered Bitcoin and at what price, mentioning my first $25 purchase that eventually turned into $5,000. But as a more curious note on an early gain, I shared my story with DOGE. I only had a few dollars, and when they tripled and I reached eight dollars in DOGE, I sold them back in 2019. Later, Elon Musk fell in love with it, and that roughly three-dollar investment would have been worth almost a thousand dollars.

They love these stories and are starting to get the urge to invest. I always tell them to study first and that the best way to start is by posting on Hive and earning crypto through their talents. Later on, they can invest those rewards.
