Dahi Wali Hari Mirch Curry – A New Recipe for a Special Sunday
Hello my lovely hive family,
I am doing well and feeling happy. I hope all of you are happy and healthy. Today, I’m going to share a special recipe with you all. I tried for the first time, and guess what? It truly won my heart and taste buds!
One of my friends often makes this curd-based green chilli curry and always talks about how tasty it is. I used to wonder, “Really? Can a mirch curry be that good?” I was also worried it might be too spicy, especially for my little daughter.
But then I thought, why not try something new this Sunday? I took the recipe from my friend and made the dish with great enthusiasm.
When it was ready, the smell was so tempting! The tangy curd, the masala tadka, and that light chilli kick—all the flavors mixed together perfectly.
The best part? At first, my daughter refused to eat it. She said, “Nooo, I don’t want mirch!” But when she took one small bite, her face lit up. She said, “Mumma, this is so yummy!”
Now it’s time for me to share this recipe with all of you—try it fearlessly!
Ingredients
8–10 big green chillies (use the less spicy ones)
1/2 cup curd (well beaten)
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp mustered seed
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
Salt to taste
1 tbsp oil
A pinch of hing
Ginger and garlic (roughly crushed)
1 tsp spice for tempering (cumin, fennel, mustered seeds)
How to Make It:
Wash the green chillies and dry them with a cloth.
Make a small slit in each chilli. If you want less spice, remove the seeds.
Then lightly crush the fennel, mustered and cumin seeds. Also crush the ginger and garlic.
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin, fennel, and hing for the tadka.
Now add the chillies and cook for 2–3 minutes.
Add the crushed ginger, garlic, turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt. Cook for 1 more minute.
Add the crushed spices and beaten curd and mix well.
Add a little water to make a light gravy. Let it cook on low flame for 5–7 minutes.
If you want to make your Sunday extra special, try this dish! No fear, just flavor! If you liked it (which I’m sure you will), please leave a comment!
