Creative Sunday : Indulge in Creamy Firni
Today, I'm thrilled to share the recipe for Firni, a traditional Indian dessert that's rich, creamy, and perfect for any occasion. I decided to share this recipe as part of Creative Sunday. Last Sunday, my husband and children had the day off, and everyone was in the mood for something sweet. After some discussion, we all agreed that Firni was the perfect choice. To make the day more creative and special, I decided to prepare Firni. The process was as enjoyable as the dessert itself, and it turned out to be a hit with everyone. They absolutely loved it!
I’m excited to share the recipe of Firni,
𝙄𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨-
Rice -1 cup
Sugar -1 cup
Full cream milk - 1 1/2 liter
Ghee - 1 tablespoon
Saffron - 7-8 strands
Dry fruts - 1/2 cup( almond, cashew, rasine)
Green cardamom - 2
𝙎𝙩𝙚𝙥 𝙗𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥 𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙙 :
Drain the soaked rice and let it dry completely. Once dry, grind it into a fine powder.
Heat a heavy-bottomed pan, add ghee, and then stir in the cardamom. Pour in the milk and mix well. Keep stirring occasionally to prevent it from burning at the bottom.
Add the rice powder to the boiling milk and cook on low heat. Stir continuously to avoid lumps. The mixture will start to thicken as the rice cooks.Once the rice is fully cooked, add sugar and stir until it dissolves completely.
Add soaked saffron strands and rose water. Mix well and let it simmer for another 5-7 minutes until the firni reaches a creamy consistency.
Pour the firni into small bowls or serving dishes. Garnish with chopped nuts. Let it cool down to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Serve the chilled firni as a delightful dessert after a meal.
I hope you like this recipe of Firni and that you enjoy making it and sharing it with your family.
