Chickpeas and Potato Curry- Our family's sunday special๐ŸŒฟ


Hello friends, I hope all of you are doing well. Today I am sharing with you the recipe of Chickpeas and potatoes Curry. Chickpeas is a high protein food which everyone likes very much. Chhole Aalu Curry is easy to make and tastes amazing. Let me share its recipe with you. You too make and eat it.

Chickpeas - 1 cup
Potatoes - 4 ( chopped)
onions - 1 (chopped)
ginger - 0ne inch
garlic cloves - 10-12
tomatoes - 2 finely chopped
oil - 3 tablespoon

๐™’๐™๐™ค๐™ก๐™š ๐™จ๐™ฅ๐™ž๐™˜๐™š๐™จ:

cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
black peppercorns - 4-5
cloves - 2
bay leaf -1
cinnamon stick - 1 small
green cardamoms - 2

๐™‹๐™ค๐™ฌ๐™™๐™š๐™ง ๐™จ๐™ฅ๐™ž๐™˜๐™š๐™จ:

turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
red chilli powder - 1 tsp
coriander powder - 2 tsp
Hing (Asafoetida) - 1 pinch
chole masala - 1 tsp
Salt as your taste
Fresh coriander leaves - for garnish
Curry leaves - 6-7 leaves

๐ŸŒฟ After soaking, transfer the chickpeas to a pressure cooker.

๐ŸŒฟAdd salt, turmeric, and 2 cups of water.
๐ŸŒฟ Cook for 3โ€“4 whistles until soft.

๐•Š๐•ฅ๐•–๐•ก ๐Ÿš โ€“ โ„™๐•ฃ๐•–๐•ก๐•’๐•ฃ๐•– ๐•ฅ๐•™๐•– ๐•„๐•’๐•ค๐•’๐•๐•’

๐ŸŒฟ Make a paste of onion, ginger, and garlic.

๐ŸŒฟ Heat oil in a pan and add the whole spices (cumin, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, cuury leaves and bay leaf and hing)

๐ŸŒฟ Once they crackle, add the onion-ginger-garlic paste and fry them for 2 minutes.

๐ŸŒฟAdd turmeric, red chilli powder, and coriander powder. Fry well.

๐ŸŒฟAdd chopped tomatoes and cook on low flame until the masala releases oil.

๐ŸŒฟ Mix in the chole masala.

๐ŸŒฟAdd the chopped potatoes to the masala.

๐ŸŒฟ Sprinkle salt over the potatoes (keeping in mind that you already added salt to the chickpeas).

๐ŸŒฟAdd a little water if needed and cook until the potatoes are soft.

๐ŸŒฟAdd the boiled chickpeas to the cooked potato masala.

๐ŸŒฟ Lightly mash a few chickpeas with the back of a spoon โ€“ this makes the curry thicker and enhances the flavor.

๐ŸŒฟ Let the curry simmer on low flame for 5โ€“7 minutes.
