Superstición: El Espíritu Creyente

Creer que sucede como resultado de la situación en ese momento. La mayoría de las veces, cuando dedicas tu vida a creer que las cosas que has enfrentado no sucederán como resultado de aquello en lo que creías, seguramente no sucederán. Para mí, creo que todo se reduce no solo a cómo lo creemos, sino a cómo queremos tratarlo. Puedo decir que sucede por casualidad, pero no a la creencia que tenemos en ello.

Mi abuelo me dijo una vez que cada vez que tuviera un forúnculo, debía tocarlo con el dedo y olerlo. Me dijo que debía hacer esto siete veces en ese momento. También dijo que después de hacerlo, el forúnculo desaparecería en uno o dos días. De verdad, lo hago, y siempre me funciona. No lo sé, pero creo que es en lo que creía, y de alguna manera funciona. Entonces, lo que creías que funcionaba como superstición, es pura coincidencia, pero no lo que creías.

Mi abuelo, quien me contó eso, también dijo que siempre que me saliera un pequeño forúnculo en la parte inferior del párpado, debería intentar arrancarme solo un pelo de esa zona. Espera un día y el forúnculo desaparecerá. He probado esto desde los 15 años y te aseguro que me está funcionando de maravilla. Supongo que es casualidad, pero no es lo que creo. Siempre había visto a gente hacer esto varias veces, pero nunca me preocupé por preguntar el motivo. Dijo: «Es de mal augurio pasar por debajo sin ponerme la mano en la cabeza». También le pregunté qué pasaría si pasaba por debajo sin darme cuenta y sin ponerme la mano en la cabeza. Me respondió: «Tendré que volver y pasar por debajo de nuevo como si volviera sin ponerme la mano en la cabeza».

Le pregunté de nuevo: «¿Qué pasaría si no lo hiciera? ¿Cuáles serían las consecuencias?». Dijo: "Es solo un mal presagio de que algo malo me sucederá en el futuro".

Así que, hasta ahora, lo paso poniéndome la mano en la cabeza. Aunque a veces lo olvido y no lo vuelvo a pasar. No sé, ¿significa eso que las cosas malas que siempre me encuentro son resultado de esto? Esta es ahora mi pregunta, que sé que no puedo responder.

La superstición es simplemente lo que creíamos, pero solo sé que si esas cosas alguna vez suceden, suceden por casualidad, no como creemos.

Una vez me dijeron que no barriera de noche. Vi a mucha gente realizar este acto. Dijeron que si lo hacía, un espíritu me visitaría por la noche y me quitaría algo. Además, no debo barrer la fachada de mi casa o tienda por la noche, porque si lo hago, mi negocio no irá bien al día siguiente. Nos dijeron tantas cosas que no debemos hacer, pero luego violamos esas reglas porque sabemos que son solo supersticiones.

Believe happen as a result of the situation at that moment. Most times when you dedicate your life believing those things you have faced will not happen as a result of that thing you believed in, surely it won't happen. To me, I believe that, everything come not just to the way we believe it, but to the way they want to tend on. I can say it happens coincidentally, but not to the belief we have in them.

My grandpa once told me that anytime I have a furuncle (Boil), I should always touch it with my finger and smell the finger. He said I should do this act for seven times at that moment. He also said after doing this act, the boil will disappear after one or two days. Truly, I do carry out this act, and it is always working for me. I don't know, but I think it is what I believed in, and it's working somehow. So, what you thought is working as a superstition, is all coincidentally but not what you thought it is.

My grandpa who told me also said whenever I have a small boil at the down part of my eyelid, I should always try to remove just one hair from that very part. Wait for just a day, the boil will disappear. I have tried this act since I was 15 up to this moment and I can bet you, it's working for me perfectly. I guess it is all coincidentally but not what I think it is. Although, I have given the same to so many of my friends and I can bet, it's working for them perfectly. I can never know if there is a hidden scientific fact behind it, but all I know is that it is working for me.

One day when I went out with my dad when I was a child, I saw him always placing one of his hands on his head while walking under a rope tied from one end to the other. He has been doing this time without number, but then I copied him without knowing the meaning. Each time I'm passing under rope tied from one end to the other, I do place my hand on my head. I had always seen people do this act several times, but I never cared to ask the reason behind it. One day while walking under it, my dad was watching me, I had forgotten to place my hand on my head. He shouted at me and said I should pass under it back the same way I had passed it before. I did as he instructed and passed under it the third time, placing my hand on my head. This time I did not hesitate to ask him to tell me the reason for carrying out this act. He said, "it's a bad omen passing under it without placing your hand on your head”. I also ask him that what if you pass through it unknowingly without placing your hand on your head? He said, "you will have to go back and pass under it again as if you are coming back again without placing your hand on your head.

I ask again, “what if I did not carry out this act, what will be the consequences?”
He said, "it's just a bad omen that something bad will happen to me in the future”.

So, up until this moment, I do pass it by placing my hand on my head. Although, sometimes I do forget and will not pass it over again. I don't know, does that mean that the bad sides I always encounter are as a result of this? This is now my question that I know I can't answer.

Superstition is just what we believed in, but I just know that if those things ever happen, they happen coincidentally but not what we think they are.

I was once told not to sweep at night. I saw so many people carried out this act. They said if I do, spirit will visit me at night and will take something from me. Also, I must not sweep the front of my house or shop at night and if I do so, my business will not run well the next day. But I do see many people nowadays sweeping the front of their shops at night and still making sales the next day. Nothing had happened to them. People also always sweep their houses at night without spirits visiting them. I sweep at night without receiving spirit.

We were told so many things we must not do, but then we violate those rules because we know they are just superstition.
