Can I Say It Has Gone On Extinction Or Is Still In Use?
Can I Say It Has Gone On Extinction Or Is Still In Use?
Designed on canva app
I was born with it and have used it several times in making my food. What I was using even years ago is now rated as “gone to rest.” No one can say he or she has not used kerosene in one way or another. I got to remember kerosene when it was brought in as part of the physics practical this year at WAEC. The fact remains that it has been a very long time since I even set my eyes on kerosene, if not for the WAEC physics practical.
Although, before kerosene, we were using firewood. This was an outdated system of preparing food. Although it is still existing, the best food you can ever enjoy is the one cooked with firewood. I don't think someone will dispute this fact.
The exit of kerosene has exited
The use of a stove:
Back in the day, we always used kerosene to cook. Who knows what was called gas? I think just a few, or even none, until the cost of kerosene became something else, then emerged.
The stove was being used alongside kerosene just to prepare any form of food. In the villages, anyone who can buy a stove and can afford to buy kerosene is considered the richest. Stoves were everywhere after some time, since people's eyes were opened to the use of kerosene. When it was stable, kerosene was going to extinction gradually, and now I can tell you that in the area I live in, you rarely see kerosene, not even stoves in the market.
Kerosene lamps:
Rahul Pandit
It's been years since I sighted my eyes on kerosene lamps. I don't know if it is being used in rural areas, but civilization has, to my little understanding, cleared off the existence of kerosene lamps. Recently, instead of using kerosene lamps, solar lamps have been used. Moreover, lamps connected with dried cells are used instead of kerosene lamps. Some of those old ways are now rendered useless, making everything move into the realm of civilization.
It has also excited marketers who have stoves in stock. The majority of them lost, as they would have had enough of it in store. My question now is, “Does that mean kerosene and stoves have also become extinct in other countries apart from Nigeria?”
What made kerosene go to extinction?
Kerosene is widely used in fuelling stoves just for us to make our foods. Ever since gas cookers have been brought into existence alongside kerosene, which is used to power the cooker, kerosene is now rendered useless when it comes to cooking foods. Although it's a sign of civilization and also a sign of forwardness, leaving the old ways behind, We are moving to a new era, as old things have passed away and new things are now in place.
The introduction of electric lanterns or lamps is another thing that rendered kerosene useless. Lamps are now made in sections and by different makers.
Does it mean that kerosene has gone totally out of the way?
The fact remains that it has gone out of the way in most aspects of food and lamps, but kerosene, to my little knowledge, is still in use for aeroplanes.
All that is being said are my points of view in my country, Nigeria. I don't know if this is the same in other countries.
Even in the villages today, the majority are using gas cookers, while some are using firewood. There are small percentages of those using kerosene and stoves, as they cannot be recommended any longer.
