Building Up My Elder Daughter's Life

I have a nature, being a parent to four kids. My nature also goes to my wife as she has adapted to my lifestyle just like the way I also adjusted to her lifestyle. We both understand each other and do not use one's fault to affect the well-being of our children.

My elder daughter of age 10+ has been the one always in my wife's shop, while others do assist her in shading the goods outside. She's wise, similar to the way I had taught her to be. Our kids are our life, and so whatever we do is by training them to become Minimalist in life. They learn from us through corrections and reproaching. Correcting your child does not mean punishing them, as most parents see that as a means of punishing them. We train our kids to know how to behave in the outside world, to also know how to minimize their ways of dealing in life.

My daughter has started selling in my wife's shop, not because I want to punish her or want to make her suffer or don't have what to eat at home. I have seen so many people who sent their children on the street hawking. They do get drained by rain and beaten by the sun. This, I can call punishment and child abuse. Our kids need to know how to manage their rights, not just to get used up by us, their parents.

So, at age 9, my daughter has started helping her mother in the shop to sell goods. We do not use that to affect her school or studies, but we are trying to train her to minimize the way she would spend her money as well as not get cheated.

In another way, we are training her on how to spend her money when she grows to adult age. This kind of teaching can never get out of her memories, no matter the situation. She's my first child and only girl, and so I would never joke with her life, nor will I allow someone to play or toil with her life.

A training to know how to minimize life is the best one for me. I teach her all her subjects to be perfect when she gets to her school. Sometimes, and most times, she always said to me that : Dad, I'm grounded with the calculative subjects most, especially mathematics just as a result of the shop I'm always in". I believed, that is a teaching towards minimalists.

We can always train our kids to adapt to our nature of being minimalist. Cutting cost in most of the items can help save a lot in most cases.
