Thanks, I try to explain in a simple way, but I don't always seem to succeed. However, the electromotive force represents the potential difference generated between the terminals of a generator in the absence of current. It is the work done by a battery or a current generator to move a unit charge inside a circuit. Mathematically the electromotive force is equal to the work done divided by the electric charge. !STRIDE
