Why Having Less Stocks/Cryptos Is Better

I was actually going through a friend's portfolio which has around 30 stocks in it. Now every stocks is quite good and he has invested somewhere between 15K to 30K for each stocks. Now the problem is, he cannot track all those 30 stocks because again tracking so many stocks means spending a lot of time in it. Along with that the returns he got is around 10% XIRR which is again in a lower size.

Problem is if you are getting this much return then it's better to invest via Mutual Fund because then you don't have to track the funds. Next is that, if you have less stocks in your portfolio you can manage it well that means you can sell or buy more based on the news. Now a lot of people getting stocks from the IPO but not selling thinking it will go high and then if it goes down they became a long term investor. This way they keep on adding the stocks.

Similarly for crypto also having max 10 crypto is more than enough, we then don't have to track all those crypto and see what's going on in those cryptos. In my portfolio I have 5 cryptos and then Hive put here. That's it, I don't have to buy more cryptos for more returns, these are well and good.

Now if you are a trader, there is a different story but as a investor having more funds means more trouble. Now if you are following a strategy like buying and selling based on percentage, then you can buy any number because you know when to sell. But when you buy blindly and don't have exit startegy then keeping a lot of stocks ot cryptos in your portfolio doesn't make sense. Having less than 10 is always better because you cam manage it well.
