50% Rebate On Traffic Fines

In Bangalore, the Traffic Police have started a campaign for 2 weeks where you can pay your traffic fines for 50% discount. Yes you heard it right, you will get 50% rebate now to pay uour traffic fines which is actually a great thing. I also have around Rs 1000 as traffic fines from the last 3 years which I have not checked until now. So now instead of paying Rs 1000, I can pay Rs 500 and my traffic fines will be cleared.

Actually it's a great deal for people having a hige fine. One of my colleague have around Rs 11K fine, and now he is also clearing the fines as he just have to pay Rs 5.5K. I know 11K is a heavy offender, but I am not going other detail on how he got this much traffic fines. But still if someone has this much traffic fines then it's a great opportunity to clear all your dues.

I also read a news where a guy has cleared his Rs 50K fines as he just had to pay Rs 25K. Now it's actually a win win situation for both the government as well as users. For users you can clear the dues ar half the cost which otherwise you have to pay full if you are caught. For government it's a great way to get dues back even if it's 50% because a lot of people would otherwise wouldn't have paid. And that's why it's a good for both the parties.

I am nor sure if similar deals happen anywhere in India but it's happening in Bangalore now and thus a lot of people are taking advantage of it. The problem is if you are caught on the road, police will ask you to pay current fine plus the total fine. And if you are unlucky then they can catch you. So that's why paying your traffic fines makes sense because now you have to pay just 50%
