Lessons From The Rainbow

Yesterday, we had a heavy downpour in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria in the evening hours which led into the night. The rain is giving much joy to the farmers because they have been expecting the rain. In the months of July and part of August, there was a drought that seriously affected those who had crops such as maize very badly.

It is just wonderful how nature can sometimes twist our reasoning. We are supposed to have rain in June down to some parts of September which is why our planting season is at that time of the year. But this year was quite different. The weather took a different turn. We have a drought of almost 2 months between June and August. That wasn't very good for our farming activities.

The rainbow came out yesterday, during the rain. It was thrilling for me to see😀. I haven't seen a rainbow for more than a year. Maybe, I’m not usually available when it shows up. I was excited and called my children to have a view.

The Belief

Rainbow is a natural phenomenon which is locally believed to have great significance. When I was young, we used to believe in our village that the rainbow is God blowing a trumpet. 😂 All of those could be funny beliefs but the rainbow surely has some lessons for us to learn.

The Beauty

Rainbow is beautiful. You can't deny that. It is beautifully adorned with Its seven colours array. Such a great token of natural decoration.

Precious

The rainbow is one of the precious things in nature. I think that it is precious because it is not common. You don't just wake up every morning to see the rainbow in the sky. It comes out when it wishes to. It is a precious gift of nature.
