USA and China both win the AI race
Each side's AIs would be roughly equally capable: whatever one can build, the other could also build, including next‑gen weapons

That could create a détente where each sticks to its own hemisphere and leaves the other alone
Each side would rely on a handful of countries for resources, know‑how and capital, with those countries aligning exclusively with one side
Every other country would then become a vassal state of either the US or China; lacking indigenous AI or critical resources, they would seek protectorate status
This would represent a huge shift in the global order
