A simple fix for hyperscalers:

Option A: agree to a higher rate base with the utility so local residents don’t see higher electricity bills

Option B: fund residential solar + storage for local households so rates don’t rise

Hyperscalers need to get serious about adding capacity, securing clean power, and/or financing infrastructure (directly or via bilateral deals) so ratepayers aren’t left footing the bill for new energy needed for AI
