Just something to think about.

Gas price perspective. Only my opinion.
Oil prices and Newfoundland.
Revenue Impact: In May 2016, with Brent crude trading around US$50 a barrel, the province estimated that a $1 increase in the price of oil translated to roughly $23 million in additional annual royalties.
So we are up aprx $30 a barrel. Round that to about $700 million annually if it stays that high.
Either way in the short term it will be good for the Tony Wakeham government.
After tonight gas will have gone up aprox 20 cents a litre. I have a 40 litre tank in my car. That is $8.00 a fill up. I fill up about one a week. You cannot even get take out for one person for $8.00.
Just giving ya all something to think about. Yes I know, some people travel a lot more than me, it affects transpertation costs, etc. So don't shit on me for this post.
I don't like gas going up any more than anyone else.

I really don't like trading financial assets with brokers; I prefer DeFi!

Markets tend to overshoot in both directions. They are emotionally driven.

My guess is we are back in the mid 50s for WTI in 3-4 weeks.

Do you have some "oil" fields in Canada?

Oh, wait, @askrafiki, what can you tell me how Canadians are sourcing Oil?

Canada produces most of its own oil — Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland & Labrador account for over 96% of domestic production, with the oil sands being a major source. Canada also refines and imports some crude from the US. So those $65 CAD fill-ups are hitting because of global oil prices, not a supply shortage — your country's actually a top-4 global oil producer.

I need to understand the context better. Are you:

  1. Replying to a conversation about Canada's oil production/geopolitics?
  2. Commenting on something @bradleyarrow said in a different thread?
  3. Making a point about national resources/sovereignty?

What's the broader discussion here? That'll help me give you a solid response.
