Self respect is what you should use to guide your over availability with people's. My nameost people don't know when to stop until they are being robbed of their respect and worth, self respect helps you detect that before it is too late.

I have been with friends when at first i was valued and respect by them, but as times went on it seems i lost my worth because they felt i was not bringing anything to the table. this experience made asked more questions about myself, thinking about what i did wrong but it all came as a result of lack of self-respect and knowing when to stop.

One of my femaIe friend came to complain to me about how his boyfriend broke up with him when she had done nothing wrong. when i asked deeper questions i found out that her boyfriend was demanding for some space and time because she was always available for him.

She wanted to give her boyfriend more attention so that he won't leave her, but what she didn't know that took it much availability can diminish her worth and respect. ignorance of that landed her to heart break.

I do not say we should be avoiding people that we are in a relationship with, but we should always know when to strike balance by on trespassing boundaries set by others. self-respect helps you to set boundaries and also know when not to cross others people boundaries.

Respect and value is what preserves a relationship, and if you lose one of this it doesn't ends well with you.
