The blind man of Bethsaida - mcgi review topic by brother Eli Soriano
We were thought in the book of mark 8:22-26 about a blind man at Bethsaida, it was a special miracle were Jesus healed him in two stages.
When he was touched firstly by Jesus being the first stage were he spit at the man's eyes he saw trees walking, then after the second touch being the second stage he started seeing clearly.
The healing were made outside the village of Bethsaida, a town were Jesus teachings were rejected, after the healing Jesus led him out of the village and told him not to return back again.
The story means a gradual process of spiritual understanding, the first stage represented initial believe, while the second stage represent complete clarity.
The gradual healing shows the journey of spiritual enlightenment, the command to stay out of Bethsaida serves as a mild judgement which tells us that rejection of spiritual light leads to loss of privilege.
This miracle shows Jesus as the promised Messiah fulfilling promises.
