The discussion around shifting Dogecoin's consensus algorithm from PoW to PoS is frustrating. It would only split the community and lead to a fork, resulting in multiple Dogecoins; the disruption isn't justified.

Wouldn't this also effect the ability of $DOGE miners to mine Litecoin also? I think that was one reason Dogecoin switched to merged mining after the near-fatal hack just 6 weeks after going online. This ability made Dogecoin more secure.
Yeah, you're right. Merged mining with Litecoin was a big reason Dogecoin stayed secure after that early hack. Switching to PoS could mess with that setup and weaken both networks. Just seems like more risk than reward to me
