Hey there, I just looked through his account (both posts and comments) and there's nowhere near $5 of earnings. I think your friend may have miscounted.
Also important to keep in mind that payouts occur after 7 days, so there are still some earnings incoming.
It's best to make sure to count everything correctly before calling something a scam (even though a HUGE number of them do exist in the crypto space).

If this is a scam why would thousands of users write posts and earn rewards?
$LEO rewards are based on daily pool and distributed according to staked Hive, I sometimes receive $3 worth of LEO vote but rewards reduces to $0.2 variable. Because my stack share becomes low.
