One or two Burgers
Yesterday, my wife had one of those aggressive cravings and we ended up ordering two burgers. We didn't go out though, we simply employed this fancy technology called Uber eats to get the burgers to us.
While ordering, something interesting about the order piqued my interest. It was the "extra" we have to add for the delivery rider.
I guess due to the location only being a few minutes from ours, the delivery fee was only 29p but it sort of made me wonder how much money riders actually make. I ask because it seems like plenty of the riders I see do it full time.
I intend to start a part time grind soon and delivery rider was on the list. I like small starts and whatnot but I really need to get a clearer idea of how much riders actually earn.
Knowing how much riders earn will help me plot how I'll get back the initial capital of starting the grind. I'll be needing a bike and some protective gear to get started and that ought to push me back a few hundreds.
For what it's worth, the burgers were nice. Although our gut struggled with the processing of the meat and egg in them, it was generally nice.
At least they were good and cheap delivery! I wouldn't want to take up deliveries like that either...
They don't earn much. Tips are an important part of their earnings. In some parts, we get a heads up on how much the delivery pays, so we can skip it until the tip gets bigger. You'll often see orders stacked up at the restaurant for non-tippers waiting for somebody to accept.
You’ll have to get more accustomed to the weather before you can do that :D. I suspect they don’t make much, but I’ve never used it myself. I would rather just go to the place and eat instead of spending the money for delivery.
