The youngest child is indeed wise because that is how to live. By learning from the mistakes of others, we are saved from falling into ditches time and time again.

But sadly, when people don't listen to reason, claiming the elders to be old-fashioned, they will definitely encounter the same mistakes as their predecessors.

You know "wisdom is profitable to direct" but when one lacks wisdom, they're in for a big problem.

That's their loss. It is said that "a stubborn grasshoppers ends up in the belly of the bird." If the ear refuses to heed to warming, it'll accompany the head when it's being cut off.
