Preparation of the first Lagos state Nigeria spendhbd workshop

Months ago, I stumbled on the spendhbd community, and I also tried out the buy-and-pay hbd process. It was fun, but then I didn't understand what the project was all about and how I could also be a part of this project, so it was just a few transactions, and I stopped.

But lately, @fokusnow called my attention to the buy-and-get discount project going on in the spendhbd community, he kicked off in Aba and the response was so encouraging, many people over there were very interested, at first when he told me I was skeptical due to the environment where I live and how Lagos resident behave sometimes, but after many plans on how to go about it, I got interested and decided to be part of this project.

Through the consent of @fokusnow, I was approved as a trusted local guide and I have taken it upon myself to overcome the challenges, reaching out to as many as possible in Lagos state about this project

I took my time to study how to list business correctly; at the start, I made some mistakes because I used my device, but immediately I switched to using my laptop, and I got it perfectly.

I needed to fish out the challenges and also how to deal with them and be successful.

Challenges

I live in a big city known as Lagos state where there have been so many failed projects; in fact, there were scams, and this made it very difficult for people to believe any project.

We have very few hive users in Lagos, and because lagos is a large city, we are very far from each other.

Secondly, Lagos is so busy that you hardly get people's attention. People are so impatient that they hardly listen to whatever you have to say, but I have to find a way to let people hear about the hive and spend on projects.

Thirdly, so many shops are scared of cryptocurrency transactions, some because they do not know crypto some are scared of the Government, and others have too many customers that they don't have time for crypto transactions.

My strategy.

Network connection works faster with social media because that is where you find people every day, so I thought about how I could use social media to let people know about this project, people often view my WhatsApp status daily so
I created a WhatsApp group and dropped the link on my status, inviting people to come shop and get a 15-35% discount, it was like an advert and it attracted people

The first group has 40 members who are interested in the spendhbd project, but they are residing at a location known as *Badagry * which will take me a 3-4 hrs drive to get there.

There is also a second group that has over 40 members who are also interested in knowing about the project so that was a huge push to me.

It was very difficult to find shops to list but with much effort, I have been able to list three shops and will also list more during the workshop tomorrow.

Due to the distance involved, the preparation was a little bit complex, but finally, everything was fixed and the workshop is coming up tomorrow 26/10/24

According to the spend hbd community instruction, To create awareness I printed some fliers and banner and Also a spend hbd branded T-shirt

The flier will help to send a message to people who are not aware of this project.

Venue.

With the help of some men in the community, I was able to reach the man in charge of the town hall, and he requested I offer a bottle of drink and a minimum of $5, which I paid, I also rented 24 pieces of sit for the workshop.

Power supply.

Due to inconsistent power supply and the outrageous price of fuel in Lagos, I went for a power pack+ inverter (Sherpa 100+inverter) to help me have constant power till the end of the workshop

I am so happy that despite the challenges, we will be carrying out the first spendhbd workshop in Lagos state, Nigeria, and this will be a great beginning for the spending project in Lagos state.

Am also grateful to @fokusnow for giving me the needed support and ideas on how to go about the whole thing and be successful.
