I made Potato Rosti and avocado for dinner
Good evening, vegan community, it's a pleasure to be here once again, today, I did something simple but delicious.
Am not really a fan of cooking but recently I decided to change my lifestyle and try new things especially things I don't really love doing, like cooking.
I promised to try out other countries recipes and find out what it looks like to eat something different and healthy, yes I haven't been to some countries but I am going to try out some of their meals.
It's evening, and I decided to go ahead and make Potato Rosti served with red apple and avocado, and honestly, l love it,it came out nice.
Potato Rosti can be called a national meal of Switzerland but am trying it out here in Nigeria today.
Potato Rosti is one of the potato recipes you can think of when you don't want to eat something heavy and you feel like trying out something new, this was my first time preparing this meal or snack,let's see if I did a great job.
Ingredients
- 3 medium Irish potatoes
- Half a tablespoon of salt
- Half tablespoon of red dry pepper
- 2 teaspoons of French butter
- Two ripe avocado
- 1 red apple
- 2 two tablespoons of sunflower oil
Let cook
First, I thoroughly washed the Irish potatoes, then peeled them off the back of them inside a pot, and added two cups of cold water.
Then I allowed it to boil for 5 minutes. You can also boil it before removing the back, but I prefer removing the back before boiling.
After five minutes, I brought it down and allowed it to cool down. Once it was cool, I grated it, at first, I wanted to squeeze out the starchy water, but I later changed my mind.
After grating the potatoes I seasoned it with pepper and salt, stired it very well to get everything mixed up and set it aside.
I placed my nonstick frying pan on my cooker and allow it to dry water, I greased the pan with butter and added the oil
Then I placed my grated well-mixed potatoes inside the pan and allow it to fry for five minutes.
After five minutes I carefully flipped to the other side to fry as well for the same five minutes.
I peeled of the avocado and sliced to my choice, then washed the apple and we are good to go.
The result.
This dish can be used for breakfast with anything combination of your choice, I love the taste, i wasn't too crispy but it was just so delicious, its more than just a meal because I felt so full after enjoying it.
