Will AI kill Hollywood? (Probably)

This is not to say that Hollywood is going to crash all at once, but over the long run, there could be serious problems, especially if serious changes are not made.
One thing AI is doing is that it's making it drastically cheap to do various things.
Imagine if you wanted to shoot a scene where a man gets punched and said punch sends him through a wall. What the cost of shooting such scene would be traditionally will be much higher than what it will cost with AI.
With AI, it will be probably $0
Zero, not because the tools will be free, but because when you look at the overall movie cost with AI compared to traditional means, you'll much likely find that trying to derive a single scene's cost will return a figure so negligible.
Social networks + AI will hurt Hollywood
The rise of social networks and now AI, will significantly hurt Hollywood.
This is because with AI, people will be able to make great films for a fraction of the cost, and with social platforms, they will be able to monetize their creations.
This makes Hollywood to fall into direct competition with numerous creatives globally.
Think about it, people can just publish things online and receive hundreds of views. If ads are the means of monetization, that could mean hundred thousands or millions of dollars, especially on platforms like YouTube.
People can break various engaging scenes of their movies into multiple short videos, publish multiple times across social platforms and using multiple formats for increased engagement, all simply to drive views onto their YouTube channel to see the whole film.
With every piece of content they put out, they make money, when it is all added up, the cost-to-revenue ratio is much likely to be satisfactory.
But Hollywood can still compete and to do this, the film companies that make up Hollywood's film dominance have to actively look out to bring creatives under them, to ensure that want they create earns Hollywood money, more than them as individuals.
We are moving into an era where creatives will have more leverage over their art and creations, thanks to AI. Most people think that AI is just going to automate every single thing, but I believe that is likely not going to be the case.
For works that stand out, there will always be creative people in the loop. What AI will automate, will probably deserve to be automated and that will likely be of bigger benefits to humans.
Everything else will be about having creatives that can capitalize on an advance tool to create significant value at much lower cost.
At least, that's how I'm looking at this.
